Holy Grail Primer! Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer Review

I used to think that a primer is unnecessary in my makeup routine. The first primer I tried was the Benefit Porefessional, which was so silicone-y that I felt it was suffocating my skin by clogging all the pores. It did an awesome job in smoothing out my skin, but it absolutely wasn't comfortable to use. The other one I gave a chance to was the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Light, and it did virtually nothing for me. But when I decided to splurge on the Hourglass Veil Mineral, my whole perspective changed - I now cannot live without a primer! Boy, it was truly a holy grail material and definitely deserves all the hype it has gotten. By now you probably know that this product is amazing, but let's talk about how and why this has become my all-time favorite!

Innisfree F/W 2015 Real Fit Lipstick 'No. 6' and 'No. 8' Review & Swatches

Cheers to the first post of 2016, and we're starting off with one of my favorite Korean brands! Whenever Innisfree releases a new lip product, I rarely misses the chance to give it a try. I've tried many of their various lip product formulas and I gotta say they are quite decent while being affordable. So when they released their latest lipstick collection for F/W 2015, I did not hesitate to add them to my huge Innisfree stash. There are so many pretty shades that would be gorgeous for the season so it was rather hard to make a decision. I ended up with two very different shades that are perfect for daily wear - one a bright milky orange and another a deep rosy pink.

Review: Blush & False Lashes from Born Pretty Store

Here comes the second part to my review of the products Born Pretty Store sent me a while back. If you haven't already checked out the first part, click here to read the review. While the last review of Born Pretty Store was entirely about lipsticks, this one will be on a blusher and false lashes which I rarely write about on my blog. I guess this is a chance to do something new :) Now, let's get on to the review shall we?

Lancome Teint Miracle Foundation Review & Swatches

When I was strolling along the makeup aisles in Sephora browsing for a new summer foundation, I was introduced to the Lancome Teint Miracle by a sales associate. It's designed to suit Asian skin tone and supposed to provide decent coverage while keeping oils at bay. That definitely sounded like something I was looking for so I decided to go with her recommendation. Read on to find out how this product works out for me!

Lipsticks from Born Pretty Store: Liphop, Mimididi, and Sugarbox Reviews & Swatches

Some months ago, I had a chance to collaborate with Born Pretty Store who generously sent me a couple of products to try out. I had not heard of the store before they reached out to me, but I was amazed by the huge collection of affordable makeup they had in the store. It was truly a difficult decision to choose from the big selections. I managed to pick 3 lipsticks, a blush, and a pair of false lashes. In this post, I'll go over the lipsticks first. The blush and false lashes will be talked about in another upcoming post. Without further ado, let's head straight into the reviews!

Guerlain Lingerie de Peau Foundation Review

Not very often that I get complimented on my skin, so imagine how delighted I was when my friend commented on how spotless my skin looked and asked if I had anything done. Of course, I didn't have anything done on my skin, be it facials or laser treatments. It was simply a result of a good foundation! At that moment, I knew it is time to write a review on this wonderful Guerlain Lingerie de Peau, which is raved by many as one of the best light-to-medium coverage foundations in the market.

Maybelline Clear Smooth All In One Shine Free Cake Powder [New Formula] Review

It's been like ages since I bought any Western drugstore makeup, since nothing looks that interesting to me lately. However, I somehow went into Boots and got my first product ever from Maybelline, the Clear Smooth All In One Shine Free Cake Powder. The ridiculous heat must have been the reason for this impulsive purchase. Well, when it seems impossible to keep oils on your face at bay in this harsh summer, you are automatically drawn to anything claiming good oil control. Keep reading to find out if this product stays true to its claims!

It was a rough week but the good news is I'm having a long holiday! That means I get to work on my blog and take some photos for a couple of product reviews sitting in my draft. Laneige Brush Pact 'No. 2 Pore Blur' Review

After several years in the States, I had forgotten how unbearable April can be in Thailand. It is literally an oven here, and I'm roasted up real good. My skin has become oilier than usual as a result, so I have been seriously powdering up to keep my foundation intact. I currently use the Brush Pact from Laneige, which I purchased during my trip to Korea. Keep on reading for my thoughts on the product!

It sure has been a while since my last review post! My job hunt is finally over, so I'm back to the regular blogging routine :) Last Wednesday was a very special day because it was my 1st blog anniversary! So, happy belated birthday to Pastel Boulevard! To celebrate this occasion, I splurged on some new lippies which I will show you once they arrive. Laneige BB Cushion [Pore Control] Review

Since cushion foundations became a trend, I have tried only a few of them to date including the super famous Hera UV Mist Cushion (which I despise). I would have tried more if not for the dewy (aka oily) finish that they tend to provide because Koreans are obsessed with dewy skin. Since I live in a warmer climate and have oily-combo skin that certainly doesn't need any more dewiness, it is hard for me to find a cushion made for my skin type. There are only a few non-dewy cushions available in the market, including the Innisfree Long Wear Cushion (review here) and the Laneige BB Cushion [Pore Control] which I will be talking about today. If you have a similar skin type as me, you'd want to keep on reading because you're about to discover the best cushion ever for normal-oily skin!

Innisfree Eco Flower Tint Balm No.2, 3, 4 Review & Swatches

Whew, it took me quite a while to edit all the photos for this post, but here it is. Innisfree released the Eco Flower Tint Balm around November or December of last year, but I haven't heard much about it from international bloggers although I've seen quite a lot of Korean bloggers talking about it. Well, it's likely because it wasn't advertised as much as other products from the brand that were released around the same time, like the Orchid skincare line. Alright, without any further ado, let's get right into the review!

Guerlain KissKiss Shaping Cream Lip Color '343 Sugar Kiss' Review & Swatch - Yet Another Dupe of YSL '52 Rosy Coral'

I must have been attracted to all the rosy coral lipsticks out there after I fell in love with the phenomenally popular YSL #52. I don't know why, but I keep finding dupes of it without even realizing lol. I just thought, "oh, this shade looks pretty," and it turns out to be a good dupe of the YSL one. Well, so here I am with another review of a dupe for the YSL '52 Rosy Coral.' The product in question today is the recently released Guerlain KissKiss Shaping Cream Lip Color '343 Sugar Kiss'. This is my first Guerlain lipstick ever, and I have to say I'm impressed. I'll get to that in a bit. If you are curious to find out why, keep on reading! By the way, click HERE if you want to check out the post on another dupe of YSL #52  (YSL '33 Rose Neillia').

Etude House F/W 2014 Dear My Wish Lips Talk 'PK003' and 'OR202' Review & Swatches

I feel like majority of my reviews these days are on lipsticks lol. Well, that's what happen when you are a lippie lover :P Anyhow, after the Innisfree Creammellow lipstick (reviewed HERE), I got another review of a F/W lipstick collection and it's from the famous Etude House. Come to think of it, this is actually my first review of Etude House's product. I mean, I've tried their products before but for some reason I didn't make a post about them. Oopsie! Now, before I get any more distracted, let's get back to what I'm going to talk about today - the Dear My Wish Lips Talk, a new hydrating lipstick formula Etude House recently released this Fall.

Innisfree F/W 2014 Creammellow Lipstick in No. 3, 8, 9 Review & Swatches

Many Korean brands have released their F/W makeup collection featuring glossy lipsticks, and one of them is Innisfree. Innisfree Creammellow lipstick is formulated to provide moisture and glossy finish with shades that are Fall-appropriate. As a person with chapped lips, I was really looking forward to try this out. Keep reading if you're interested in how it turns out for me!

YSL Rouge Volupte 'Rose Neillia' Review & Swatch - Dupe of the Famous YSL 52 'Rosy Coral'

I was casually browsing the YSL counter at Bergdorf when I suddenly stumbled upon a Rouge Volupte lipstick that really reminds me of the phenomenally popular Rosy Coral shade - it is the YSL Rouge Volupte in No. 33 'Rose Neillia.' I was like, ok, I already have the Rosy Coral so I'm gonna pass on this one. But then I saw some swatches online and felt I had to have it lol. Well, so I went back to the YSL counter, and you know what, it was sold out! The sales assistant told me it was a limited shade. Of course, I didn't give up - I searched all over the place and finally landed on one at YSL counter in Bangkok :) I feel like this can be an alternative to those of you who cannot get your hands on YSL Rosy Coral.

Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation Review

I haven't used many Chanel makeup products, but I like what I have tried from the brand so far - the eyeshadow palette, liquid liner, and eye makeup remover. When I was searching for a good lightweight foundation, Chanel therefore was among the list of brands I was considering. I decided to stop by Bergdorf in NYC to test out the products from the brands on my list to see which one I like most. Chanel counter was my first, and last, stop. As soon as I asked the sales assistant about foundations, she offered to do my makeup with Chanel foundations so I can decide myself whether I like the finish and feel of the product. I hesitated at first because I was afraid that the foundation she was going to try on me would turn cakey - I didn't have enough time to go back to the hotel and redo my makeup. But, I took a leap of faith and say yes :) And, I was glad I that I did! I didn't have to look further for a nice everyday base makeup as it was a love at first sight with the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua.

3 Concept Eyes Creamy Lip Color 'No. 4 Joyce' Review & Swatches

Next up for the 3 Concept Eyes product review is the Creamy Lip Color. I first saw this on my fellow blogger Filia's blog and fell in love with the color #4 Joyce. Since the lip lacquer from the brand dries my lips out, I really hope that this would not turn out the same way. It is a newer lipstick release from the brand and is more focused on being glossy instead of their usual matte finish. It claims to apply like butter and gives off vivid glossy color while moisturizing the lips. There are many beautiful shades but #4 caught my attention first, and I'm having a love-hate relationship with it. Keep reading to find out why.

3 Concept Eyes Water Gloss 'Funny Booster' and 'Lucky Strike' Review & Swatches

From my recent 3 Concept Eyes/Stylenanda haul, I've got several things I want to do a review on and I decided to start off with the brand's latest release, the Water Gloss. I was quite skeptical about this product when I first saw it since their lip lacquer didn't really work well for me, so I hesitated whether to give it a go. Well, I'm glad I didn't let my previous disappointment prevents me from trying new things from the brand. The Water Gloss turns out to be a worthy splurge as it exceeds my expectations in many ways. Keep reading to find out how :)
