Lancome Teint Miracle Foundation Review & Swatches

When I was strolling along the makeup aisles in Sephora browsing for a new summer foundation, I was introduced to the Lancome Teint Miracle by a sales associate. It's designed to suit Asian skin tone and supposed to provide decent coverage while keeping oils at bay. That definitely sounded like something I was looking for so I decided to go with her recommendation. Read on to find out how this product works out for me!

TEINT MIRACLE FOUNDATION

Brand: Lancome
Product Type: Foundation
Capacity: 30 ml
Shade: BO-02
Retail Price: US $44
Website: www.lancome-usa.com

Lancome Teint Miracle Foundation is a non-comedogenic, medium coverage foundation that provides a translucent, flawless complexion as if skin is "lit-from-within." It has a lightweight feeling and sun protection of SPF 15. The foundation claims to deliver up to 18 hours of hydration and effectively evening out skin tone, as well as to calm the skin with 37% pure water and rose extract. Oil-free. Fragrance-free.

Ingredients: Active: Octinoxate 3.0% (active); Water, Cyclopentasiloxane, Alcohol Denat., Phenyl Trimethicone, Glycerin, PEG-10 Dimethicone, BIS-PEG/PPG-14/4 Dimethicone, PEG/PPG/Polybutylene Glycol-8/5/3 Glycerin, Rosa Gallica Flower Extract, Talc, Dimethicone, Dimethicone/Polyglycerin-3, Crosspolymer, Methicone, Alumina, Aluminum Hydroxide, Magnesium Sulfate, Disodium Stearoyl Glutamate, Ethylhexyl Hydroxystearate, Tocopheryl Acetate; May contain: Red 28 Lake, Red 7, Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Blue 1 Lake, Bismuth Oxychloride, Iron oxides

Even if it claims not to cause breakouts and irritations, the high alcohol content in this product can lead to negative reactions for some people with sensitive skin or those who cannot handle alcohol in skin products well. On the more positive note, talc is not high on the list so the foundation doesn't feel too powdery and unnatural.

This foundation (those selling in Asia) is specifically designed for Asian skins, which tend to lean towards yellow undertone. BO-02 has a light shade with strong yellow undertone. When I compared this to the Guerlain Lingerie de Peau  foundation I have in shade 02 (beige with neutral to slightly cool undertone), it is very obvious that the Lancome one has a warm tone to it. Even though they are very different, I somehow manage to work with both - Guerlain would blend in a bit more seamlessly with my natural skin color while Lancome would give more brightening effect.

The foundation comes in a clear glass bottle with a pump and needs to be shaken well before use. It is easy to control the amount dispensed, and one pump is usually sufficient for my entire face.

Compared to the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua or the Guerlain Lingerie de Peau, this product is relatively thicker in consistency and is more difficult to spread. Nonetheless, it is still lightweight and glides on pretty easily. Though if not careful, you might end up with streaks. I would recommend blending this immediately after applying since it dries down fairly quickly.

With a single layer, you can easily achieve a medium coverage that blurs redness and pores as well as erasing any minor imperfections. It is usually enough for me on a daily basis. When I want a more flawless look, I'd go with another layer on visible blemishes and apply concealer as needed. Despite good coverage, the foundation doesn't feel heavy nor does the finish look unnatural. It also dries down quickly into a semi-matte finish without leaving behind stickiness. I'm left with brightened, natural-looking flawless skin.

The product doesn't claim to be long-lasting, but its lasting power is actually impressive. It would still look decent by the end of my 9-hour work day without oxidizing. The oil control is pretty good and I don't need to blot as much as I normally do during the day. Hydration-wise, I'd say that it is somewhat hydrating but it definitely cannot keep my skin moisturized up to 18 hours as claimed. In my opinion, this is not a winter foundation, even for my oily combo skin. Generally, while it would work well for other skin types, I don't think this is a good option for dry skin - apart from insufficient moisture content, it can accentuate dryness on your skin.

QUICK TAKE

  • Medium coverage, build-able to full
  • Provides good coverage while being lightweight
  • Effectively blurs pores and redness
  • Consistency is not runny but not thick either - quite easy to work with
  • Brightening
  • Natural, semi-matte finish
  • Dries down quickly without leaving behind stickiness
  • Good lasting power and decent oil control
  • Somewhat hydrating - not enough moisture for dry skin in my opinion
  • Can accentuate dryness on skin
  • Does not oxidize
  • No breakouts

Overall, this foundation is a decent option for oily to combo skin. It is ideal for when you want to look naturally flawless with a brightened complexion. Being lightweight is also a big plus of this product. My advice is to moisturize your skin well before applying the foundation - with a smooth canvas, you'll achieve a beautiful result!
