Guess who is to blame for the big hole in my wallet right now. Damn you, Dior! The recently released Dior Addict Fluid Stick is too gorgeous so I splurged on three of them. Yes, three...it was pretty hard for me to resist getting more. The shades are beautiful, not to mention the elegant packaging (that, by the way, reminds me of Maybelline Color Elixir...hmm). Plus, the hype and positive reviews tempted me even more to give in to these. Well, well, let's get on to how well they live up to the hype.
Dior Addict Fluid Stick is a hybrid between a lip gloss and a lipstick. As Dior puts it, "color and shine come together for maximum impact with intense lip stain
pigments directly encapsulated in spheres of gloss for long-wearing
results." The formula is water based so the texture is light and feels comfortable on the lips. There are currently 17 shades available.
The 3 shades I got are 373 Rieuse, 389 Kiss Me, and 575 Wonderland. Rieuse and Wonderland are currently sold out on Dior website but they may still be available on other e-retailers as well as at physical counters.
The products come in a bullet-shaped structure in a transparent rectangular tube. The top is similar to other Dior Addict lipsticks. They are super pretty - really wowed me when I first saw it, being a sucker for beautiful packaging I am.
They come with a slightly concave sponge applicator for easy and precise application.
373 Rieuse is a beautiful pinky coral shade perfect for daily wear. This is a very wearable shade and my favorite out of the three. 389 Kiss Me is a cool baby pink and 575 Wonderland is a bright hot pink. There are no shimmer in any of them.
OVERALL THOUGHTS
Dior Addict Fluid Stick is very hydrating and feels light/comfortable on my lips. It does not settle into my lip lines or dry out my lips/accentuate my dry flakes. Also, the shades are pretty flattering and pigmented (darker shades like Wonderland are more pigmented than lighter ones like Kiss Me). It is very glossy and the gloss does last pretty long without eating or drinking. However, the product will be pretty much gone if you do so - only a bit of stains will be left. The reapplication is easy and hassle-free though, so that's not a big deal. The product doesn't transfer even without a lip liner and concealer. But, I find that the color shows better on my lips when I use concealer to prime. The only thing I truly dislike about this product is how tacky it feels after application. It gradually feels less tacky but it mildly annoys me. Well, the pros far outweigh the con though. Overall, I'm looking forward to own more of the shades - so yes, I'm in love with these beauties - it is certainly worth the hype!

You've got lovely shades! I wished that I got more shades when i was at duty free but oh well, I got mine in Pandore (754) and I love it to bits! They're all really flattering! I want to get more but I just burnt a hole in my purse by purchasing the YSL Shade 52 (Cheon Song Yi's shade) because it looked so good when you posted a comparison with the hope one/review on it! :D

ReplyDeleteI'm not entering because I totally found your blog by searching for lippy giveaways, but I appreciate the review, as I've been curious about this stuff. I think I've decided against purchasing it, because you mentioned it was tacky upon application. I always hate when gloss does that, because my hair gets stuck in it!
ReplyDeletelol I hate when my hair gets stuck in the gloss too!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love these lipsticks, the colours and finish are so gorgeous. I’ve just done a review of them on my blog, which you can read here.
