I'm From (아임프롬) Vitamin Tree Mask & Vitamin Tree Water-Gel Review

Holy grail product alert! Usually I'm wary about trying skincare products from unfamiliar niche brands, but when I discovered "I'm From" on Wishtrend, I couldn't help but giving its Vitamin Tree line a chance. And, thank god I did! It totally blew me away with its awesomeness. If you have oily to normal skin, or are residing in a hot and humid area, you will want to continue reading to find out why I love this line so much. 

I'm From (아임프롬) is an "honest" Korean skincare brand with a mission to deliver goodness from nature to conscious consumers. It is committed to providing high quality skin care solutions formulated with carefully selected ingredients for even the most sensitive skin. It focuses on using natural and safe ingredients and on being transparent about the safety of each product. 

Now, what's so good about vitamin tree or sea buckthorn? Dubbed as a 'tree of miracle,' sea buckthorn is a rich source of vitamins, containing 5 times more Vitamin E than lemons and 200 times more Vitamin C than apples. It also contains 495 other natural nutrients, including 9 essential amino acids, minerals, and many more. Moreover, sea buckthorn has a higher content of Catechin, a potent antioxidant, compared to green tea leaf (which we all know is a powerful source of antioxidant). With abundant nutrients, it helps soothe the skin from stresses and damages caused by external pollution and enhances the secretion of toxic wastes from deep inside the skin.

I'm From Vitamin Tree Water-Gel is a gel cream containing a whopping 72.39% vitamin tree  (aka sea buckthorn) extract. It also contains extracts from 3 extreme-environment plants to strengthen your skin - snow lotus (reserves moisture), cloudberry (rich in vitamins), and rose of Jericho (balances moisture level). It claims to hydrate, calm, whiten, and provide vitamin surge for skin with a lightweight formula suitable for normal-oily skin.

Sea Buckthorn is listed as the first ingredients, and the formula contains no water, which means it is a highly concentrated product. All of the ingredients are considered low hazard, except for Cyclopentasiloxane (a silicone), which is rated as moderate hazard. I would say this formula is mild and is suitable for sensitive or acne-prone skin. 

The product comes in a basic sturdy glass jar and a spatula for hygienic application. Sometimes, when I close the cap too tightly, it is stuck and can't be opened easily. So, please watch out for that. 

The slightly cloudy clear gel has a non-sticky and somewhat runny consistency that glides on easily. It has a lightweight texture that feels comfortable on skin - something that oily-combo skin will appreciate. After applying the gel cream, my skin is instantly hydrated, soothed, and refined. I only need a little pea size for my whole face since little goes a long way with this product. It absorbs quickly without leaving oily residue behind and settles into a silky finish. Although it doesn't really control oil, it doesn't make my face oilier.

I've been using this for almost a month and still sees no clear result on the brightening part, so I'm not sure if it requires more time to see the result or if it doesn't fare well on the brightening aspect. Either way, this is not a problem for me as I'm not really expecting a brightening effect from it. For me, many gel creams feel too silicone-y and just sit on top of your skin, but this does not do that. It doesn't feel like a layer of silicone on your face - it sinks into your skin to provide nutrition and hydration without clogging your pores. One word for this gel cream - amazing! It has become one of my holy grail products :)

I'm From Vitamin Tree Mask is a detox mask containing 11.5% or 661 leaves from fresh vitamin tree, 50.46% vitamin leaf tea, and extracts from 3 extreme-environment plants (snow lotus, cloudberry, and rose of Jericho). It claims to bring an instant result of clear, glowing skin by purifying, detoxifying, soothing, and providing vitamin surge for skin.

Just like the gel cream, the mask contains no water and is highly concentrated with sea buckthorn extract. All of the ingredients listed are rated as low hazard, except for 3. The gel cream is milder, but I'd say the mask is considered mild as well.

The product doesn't come with a brush. I bought this along with the mask and gel cream since it was a better deal as a bundle. The brush is made out of high quality, flexible silicon and is designed for efficient application of the mask. However, I feel that it is quite difficult to use and requires practice to use it efficiently. 

One important thing to point out is that this mask smells very "green" and "organic." It literally smells like crushed leaves packed in a jar. I wouldn't say I like the scent, but it's tolerable. Well, at least it's a good sign that there are lots of natural ingredients in there. As for appearance, I'll let you be the judge of that. It doesn't look very "pretty," I know. 

It has a non-sticky creamy consistency that spreads easily on skin. The texture is smooth, and there are no fallouts. I apply this after cleansing and leave it on for roughly 10-20 minutes. During that time, I can feel a bit of cooling sensation but no drying/stripping feeling. It can be tricky washing it off, especially if you don't have the silicon brush to scrape the product off. I suggest you gently massage your face in circling motion while rinsing for a thorough cleanse. After washing off, my skin feels hydrated, deeply cleansed, and revitalized. I can also sensed my pores shrinking a little, although the effect is temporary.

Overall: If you are conscious about what you put on your face, this is a must-try skin care line, especially if you have normal to oily skin. With its thoughtfully concocted formula, it is mild enough for sensitive or troubled skin. The mask is nice, but I can't say enough how much I adore the gel cream. What's more to say? Five stars to this line! Highly recommended!
