A New York Diary

Hey guys! I'm finally back in my lovely hometown Bangkok (and super jetlagged) after spending several years in New York. NY has become a second home to me, and I've made so many good memories there. Before I had to leave for good, I strolled around town while reminiscing about my time there, and enjoyed my last days in the city that never sleeps.

My sister and I stayed at The Standard Hotel, East Village the night before my flight, and it was an awesome experience. Although the hotel itself is pretty far from the city center, the NYC view from the hotel was spectacular. The wall is made up of ceiling-to-floor glass panels so I was able to have a panoramic look at the city. It is just a perfect place to spend my last night there. If anyone plans on going to NYC, I highly recommend this place!

We went to Mandarin Oriental for an afternoon tea. This place has the best view ever. You can see central park as well as the bustling city from there. The afternoon tea was great - they had one of the best scones I've tried and the jasmine tea was perfect. My sister who had scones for the first time loved them so much. The funny thing was that we could not open a jar of devonshire cream, and the waiter couldn't either lol. He had to take it back to the kitchen and opened it there.

The savories were creative but did not taste the best. Anyway, I don't usually eat much sandwiches when I go for afternoon tea.

The sweets were good. I liked how they were uniquely presented.

Times Square is always crowded with tourists. I remembered the first time I came here - I was so excited and amazed by all the lights. Even though there were so many people, I loved coming here to shop since the stores closed really late. I could spend hours at Forever 21 and Sephora lol.

I would certainly miss this concrete jungle. It is a city full of energy and a center of everything - fashion, beauty, and so on. There's just so much going on everyday. I wish I can come back here again for travel or may be for school. Thank you New York for all the beautiful memories you've given me. Now, onto the next adventure! <3
