CNP Laboratory Anti-Blemish Spot Solution Review

I don't know why but my hormones have been going wild lately. I keep getting acne here and there, especially on my U-zone (which is usually not acne-prone). Thank God they are not painful cystic acne, but still! So, I searched for something to rescue my skin and ended up with the Anti-Blemish Spot Solution from CNP Laboratory, my favorite dermatologist-developed skincare brand. I absolutely love their blackhead clear kit, so I hoped that the spot solution would be as effective. And, I am not disappointed! Find out why it has become my staple product after the jump!

Anti-Blemish Spot Solution is a solution to treat acne and soothe/hydrate troubled areas. It can be used day and night, though I usually use it in my night routine. It is ideal for sensitive skin as it doesn't contain synthetic fragrance and colorants. It does contain alcohol, but I didn't notice the applied areas peeling or becoming overly dry.

Here is a full list of ingredients for those of you who are interested:

Water, Alcohol, Glycosaminoglycans, Propanediol, Butylene Glycol, Centella Asiatica Extract, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Gaultheria Procumbens (Wintergreen) Leaf Extract, Coptis Japonica Root Extract, PEG-12 Glyceryl Laurate, PEG-36 Castor Oil, Sodium Hydroxide, PPG-6-Decyltetradeceth-30

The product comes in a small, clear frosted bottle with a screw cap. The packaging is simple and very travel-friendly since it is very small. It will fit perfectly in a small clutch or mini bag, in case you want to carry it around. I'd say it is quite expensive for the amount you get, more so if you have a lot of blemishes.

The solution has a yellow tint to it but appears transparent when applied. It comes with a clear rubber applicator that picks up just the amount of product. The formula is not sticky or too runny. You can apply and leave it on, or you can massage it into your skin for quicker absorption. I do the former and it works out just fine for me. There is a medicinal smell, which doesn't bother me much. It is cooling when applied, and it stings slightly if your acne has open wound from when you try to squeeze it (which you shouldn't do) or whatnot. After application, the minor tingling sensation tells me the product is working.

When I apply this at night on inflamed acne, it becomes visibly smaller and calmer when I wake up. Instead of just going down, the acne forms a little white head since the solution draws out fluid from the inside and brings the infection to the surface. Once the white head appears, the solution will then dry out the puss, and the acne can be properly healed. This is a much better way for acne to go down. If it just subsides, you might end up getting acne under you skin.

Sometimes, I use this on infected areas where I feel acne might form (where it's red, itchy, or slightly raised). This solution works wonder in such case. In the morning, the applied areas become significantly calmer. One thing I definitely have to rave about this product is that it doesn't irritate my skin. It dries out the acne but not the areas around it - there is no peeling whatsoever, although the formula has alcohol. I've used some other acne solution and many dry out my skin too much.

QUICK TAKE

  • Effectively calms and soothes acne
  • Non-drying although it contains alcohol
  • No synthetic fragrance and colorants
  • Acne is visibly smaller and less inflamed overnight
  • Brings infection to the surface
  • Stings slightly if there is open wound
  • Non-sticky and absorbs readily
  • Treats and soothes infected areas before acne can form

Available at: KoreaDepart ($18.60), TesterKorea (17,000 won)

I really love the result I get with this product - a calmer, clearer skin. If you are suffering from acne and haven't found a good acne-care product, I highly recommend the Anti-Blemish Spot Solution! It is an effective product to treat blemishes and is gentle enough on sensitive skin.

  6. Yep! I think alcohol is there for anti-bacterial purpose. It is formulated well so it's not over-drying skin.
