Lancome Lip Lover '336 Orange Manege' Review and Swatches

I've been meaning to do a review on the Lip Lover for a while but somehow I just couldn't find time for it. But, I finally brought myself to sit down and get working. I got this months ago (see my graduation haul here) and have been wearing it a lot. Needless to say, I adore this product.

Lip Lover is a pigmented lip gloss, or as Lancome puts it, "a lip perfector." I had quite a trouble choosing the shade since there are so many lovely shades to choose from. I ended up picking 336 Orange Manege, which looks really orange at first but actually is not as orange as it seems.

The packaging has a unique detail. Instead of the usual twisting, this one requires you to push the button to release the cap. To close, you just have to push down the cap until you hear a click sound.

The applicator is slim and easy to use for precise application. I feel that it is easy to work around the lip corner with this.

As I mentioned earlier, Orange Manege is not as orange as it may seem. At first, I was not really interested in this shade because orange shades are usually not flattering on me. However, after I try swatching it out, it shows up as a pretty rosy coral. It is pigmented, and the texture is smooth and glossy. There is subtle shimmers but it is barely visible on lips.

OVERALL THOUGHTS

It is truly a 'lip perfector.' I found that it is easy to wear so i reach for it quite a lot. It is pigmented and very moisturizing so I don't need to prime my lips with a lip balm. It also glides on very smoothly and never once accentuate dry flakes or sink into lip lines. On top of that, it' glossy but non-sticky. The only complain I have with this is its lasting power. I eat/drink a lot, I have to confess, and this almost completely fades away without leaving much stain. However, it leaves my lips feeling hydrated even when it fades, making reapplication hassle-free. If you don't eat/drink, it does last pretty long.

  1. I have this in 313 and 316, and I love them because they don't leave that sticky feeling behind that normal glosses do! I thought the packaging was interesting with the button too.
