Innisfree, my favorite Korean naturalism brand has released the Creamy Tint Lip Mousse as a part of their Spring 2014 make-up collection. The product is a liquid lipstick/ lip tint with a mousse texture. It
claims to provide long-lasting vivid color while moisturizing your lips with camellia oil. There are currently 7 shades to choose from. I got mine in shade number 3, 4, and 5.
The packaging is very simple, just like any other Innisfree products, which I'm totally fine with.
It comes with a slanted applicator which makes precise application easy.
The mousse texture is more towards creamy than liquid, making it easy
to control the product during application, especially around the
corners of the lips. Shade no. 3 is a beautiful coral, no. 4 is a medium pink,
and no. 5 is a bright red. The finish is somewhat between matte and
glossy.
Shade no. 3 seems to complement my skin tone very well. Coral shades
that are too orange-y usually turn out weird on me because I have yellow
undertone skin. This one, though, leans more towards the pink side so it
looks more flattering on my lips. As you can see, it kind of accentuates
dry lips, but this is before I exfoliated my lips (and my lips were
very dry at the time).
Shade no. 4 is a beautiful, medium
pink. It is something that I can wear on a daily basis. Unlike the
swatch for no. 3, I exfoliated before I applied the product so there's no obvious
accentuated dry flakes.
No. 5 is a bright red - great for a night out. It might not look that
bright here because my camera somehow couldn't capture its brightness
well. But, it is actually pretty bright and bold. Actually, all 3 shades
are brighter than other lip products I've tried.
OVERALL THOUGHTS
This is much better than I expected. Liquid lip products usually do not wear well on me because I have rather dry lips. However, this mousse formula doesn't sink into lip lines and doesn't accentuate dry flakes as much as other liquid formulas I've tried. If I exfoliate my lips beforehand, there's absolutely no problem. The product glides on smoothly. It's somewhat moisturizing and moderately glossy, which I love. It doesn't make my lips look cracked and dried while wearing. Moreover, the mousse formula makes the application easy - I have had no trouble controlling the product, even near the lip corners. There's minimal transferring, which is quite annoying but not something too hard to handle. Oh, I forgot to mention - the shades are quite bright and vivid - brighter than other lipsticks I've worn. But, I kinda like that since there seems to be a trend for bright lips this spring :)
PROS
Quite moisturizing
Somewhat glossy
Doesn't settle into lip lines
Easy to apply
vivid shades
Pigmented
Minimal transfer
Doesn't really stain lips - it is practically gone if you eat/drink
Available at Korea Depart for US$ 9.27

Wow this is the first time I've heard of a lip mousse. Koreans just keep coming up with more and more ingenious inventions, don't they. Haha. They kinda look matte in their stock photos, but it looks a bit glossy in the photos that you took. I think it'll be quite interesting to try them out (:
ReplyDeleteNever heard of these but they look great! :)

ReplyDeleteYou should try them out :) They are definitely more glossy than the 3CE's lip lacquer and Etude's Color Lips-fit if you've tried those.
