Chiang Mai Photo Diary Part 2: Reconnecting with Nature

I'm here with Part 2 of my Chiang Mai trip! Last time, it was all about temples and architecture, but you will see a lot of green this time. After the temple tour, I went to indulge in nature at Mon Jam Mountain. Being from bustling Bangkok city, it was an incredible change of scenery. October is not a peak season for tourists so there were not many people, which was awesome. I could fully appreciate the beautiful view without having to go through a crowd of people. The weather was kind of cool, something like early Fall. I didn't need an outerwear but I saw several tourists with jackets. I guess I'm used to cool weather as I lived in New York for years. The air was so fresh I felt like I was detoxing my respiratory system lol. Up there is so amazingly beautiful that I think my photos didn't do it justice.

At first, I thought the huts were rest area but they were actually seating for a restaurant. Imagine filling up your stomach while looking at that kind of view! I wanted to try out their food but I just ate so I sadly missed the chance =(

As the temperature starts to drop, some of Winter flowers begin to bloom. I found these especially lovely. I'm not sure if they are cherry blossom but they sure remind me of it.

There was a small coffee shop run by the local tribal village. It'd be so awesome to sip coffee amidst fresh air and 360 degrees of nature.

After I left the mountain, I stopped by an orchid and butterfly farm located nearby. There were so many Westerners there. The orchids were so beautiful - their colors are vibrant and some exhibit fascinating patterns on their petals. They must have taken really good care of the flowers.

It was a tough task to take photos of the butterflies since they rarely stayed still. But, I didn't give up and managed to take some clear shots.

And, of course, how could I forget to take a selfie? lol

The last place on the schedule was the natural hot spring. I boiled some eggs there - it took me longer than expected to hard-boiled them. It was quite fun doing stuffs in an unusual way. By the way, I somehow think that the texture of the eggs turned out better than if they were boiled in a pot.

After I finished boiling the eggs, it was time to enjoy the product of my hard work lol. I ate the eggs (yes, all 3 of them) while I comfortably soaked my feet in the warm water sourced from the hot spring. To wrap up, my Chiang Mai trip was a perfect getaway from city life. I got to recharge my health and indulge myself in the beauty of this small Northern province full of cultures and natural treasure. I would definitely consider taking a trip to Chiang Mai again once Winter comes by!

Next up will be a beauty-related post, which I have been preparing for you guys! Please stay tuned <3
